- What is Endometrial Cancer?
The classic symptom is abnormal uterine bleeding
Endometrial cancer symptoms include irregular vaginal bleeding, especially in peri-menopausal and post-menopausal women. Treatment options include surgery (open, laparoscopic or robotic hysterectomy, removal of ovaries, sampling of lymph nodes), sometimes followed by radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
Endometrial cancer is strongly associated with excessive body weight. 3 in 5 of these cancers could be prevented by keeping weight under control and regular exercise.Obese women have a high level of estrogen.
Diabetes and hypertension are also risk factors for cancer of the uterus. – one reason been these conditions r associated with obesity.
