Definition: Fallopian tube cancer originates from the cells lining the fallopian tubes, which connect the ovaries to the uterus. It’s a rare type of gynecologic cancer.
Risk Factors:
Age: More common in postmenopausal women.
Genetics: BRCA gene mutations.
History of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease: Increases the risk.
Types: Primarily serous adenocarcinomas.
Presentation: Abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain.
Treatment: Surgery to remove the tubes and ovaries, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
